Spot Contracts
A spot contract is an agreement between you and your FX partner to buy a foreign currency at the present exchange rate. This is the most commonly used tool in foreign exchange and is suited to people / businesses that have an immediate foreign currency need.
Forwards Contracts
A forward contract allows you to fix the prevailing exchange rate for a future date. This protects you from any upturns or downturns in the market. They are otherwise referred to as currency forwards or deliverable forwards. Forward contracts allow you to plan ahead with reassurance and certainty. Your dedicated account manager will be on hand to explain in more detail the pros and cons of using forwards and whether there might be a better mix / balance.
Options Contracts *
Foreign exchange options can be useful tools when it comes to managing your company’s foreign currency exposure. Some options are beneficial for risk management while others can offer potential to outperform the market. Choosing the right product is something our team are well trained to do. At FLYT, we have an extensive list of FX options from basic ‘vanilla options’ to more complex zero cost options.
